ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 11 brought the 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock season to the halfway point with Dannon LaCoste of Theriot, LA on top of the point standings. LaCoste has 510 points and has reached the 11-week point of his season.
LaCoste will now be trying to replace the lowest Weekly point score of his best 11 with a higher one. Beginning with Week 12 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock action, LaCoste will be trying to net on a 41. All of the other drivers in the Top 10 of the standings still have one more week to earn full points.
Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.
The 2018 Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock National Champion Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is second in the standings with 482 points. Idom drove the Tri-State Rock and Rails Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a 40-point win on Saturday night at Tri County Speedway in Flomaton, AL. It was Idom’s ninth win of the season.
Lee Ray of Columbus, MS is third with 481 points and Carl Kilgore IV of Greenville, MS is fourth in the standings with 476 points. Kaleb Vandygriff of Mount Pleasant, TN is fifth in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock standings with 446 points and Gary Tucker of Fayetteville, TN is sixth with 444 points.
Landon Jackson of Norco, LA is seventh with 435 points and Clayton Kilgore of Greenville, MS is eighth in the National standings with 430 points. J.R. Brown of Calera, AL is ninth with 424 points and Noel Bailey of Lacy Springs, AL rounds out the top ten of the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock standings with 421 points.
Week 11 for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock Division was a busy one with 11 races on the schedule of events. Six of those races were points paying Qualifying Races for the 8th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS with three on Thursday night, and three on Friday night.
The three Thursday night winners were David Williamson of Seminary, MS in the WO Contracting Special, Chris Bayhi of Milton, FL in the Roberson Underground Utilities Special powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Engine, and Chad Thrash of Meridian, MS in the Project X Race Cars Special.
On Friday night, the three winners were Brandon Hill of Amory, MS in the B&H Tree Service Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine, Hayden Moran of Covington, LA in the We Buy Junk Cars Special with Chevrolet Performance 602 power, and Bo Minor of Ralph, AL in the Mike Minor’s Auto Repair Special.
Saturday night Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Street Stock Week 11 winners were Heath Walker of Mayo, FL at All Tech Raceway in Lake City, FL driving the Bensen Tractor Repair Special, and Justin Pugh of Milan, TN at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN driving the Oak Grove Racing Special.
David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN drove the Hardy & Associates/Dixon Plumbing Special to a 40-point win at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, and Week 11 Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock action at Lake View Motor Speedway in Nichols, SC was rained out.
