(Eastaboga, AL, August 21, 2025) – With just five weeks left until the conclusion of the 2025 Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series National Championship chase, the pressure is mounting across all four divisions. Week 25 delivered big wins, critical podiums, and notable shakeups that could prove decisive as the march to September 29th continues.
CRUSA Dirt Late Models
The Late Model championship fight took a dramatic turn this past weekend, as David Williamson extended his lead by parking in Victory Lane at Pine Ridge Speedway on August 16th. The win not only gave Williamson five more points but also solidified his role as the division’s frontrunner.
Behind him, the shuffle continued. Chris McElhenney’s podium finish at Pine Ridge was enough to propel him into second, pushing Ben Davis down to fourth after Brady Walton stormed through with a feature win at Baton Rouge Speedway. Walton’s strong run puts him just 11 points back from Williamson, making him one of the hottest threats in the series right now.
Meanwhile, Shannon Lee’s climb to sixth and Bubba Mullins’ jump into seventh reshuffled the middle of the Top 10. With only five weeks left in the season, every lap and every finish feels heavier than ever.
CRUSA Late Model Sportsman
Consistency has been Brett White’s greatest weapon all season, and that continues as he holds steady at the top heading into Week 25. White’s nine wins in 2025 keep him in control, but the names behind him are far from finished.
The biggest storyline this week belongs to rookie Jarrett Jones, who backed up a strong second-place run at Pine Ridge with a jump to third in the standings. That move bumped Covy Parsons back one spot, even though Parsons remains just three points behind.
The top of the leaderboard may still belong to White, but the battle for second through fourth is tightening by the week — and one mistake could flip the order entirely.
CRUSA Street Stocks
Calvin Martin continues to look unstoppable, holding firm atop the Street Stock standings with 16 wins and a flawless run of consistency. But while Martin seems in control, the story is once again the jostling behind him.
Travis Marsh gained ground with another steady weekend, while Bryce Sheasby and rookie standout Malachi Magee remain locked in a dogfight for third and fourth. The real shakeup came just behind them, as veteran Shelby Sheedy surged into the Top 5, moving ahead of Corey Buhler, who slipped after a tough outing at the Southern Street Stock Nationals.
The Top 10 now looks tighter than ever, with new faces like Johnny Stokes jumping up the order. As the season barrels toward its conclusion, the intensity in this division may be second only to the Late Models.
CRUSA Modified Sportsman
No division saw a bigger swing this past weekend than the Modified Sportsman ranks. After Pine Ridge, the championship is now dead even — Luke Riddle and Ron Grandel are tied at the top with 650 points apiece. Grandel’s win at Pine Ridge erased the gap, while Riddle salvaged fourth to keep his title bid alive.
Colton Grimes slipped slightly but remains within reach, while Keith Coan had one of his best runs of the year, finishing third at Pine Ridge to vault himself back into contention. The shakeup also saw Eddie Riddle leap into sixth, tightening the Top 10 picture.
With only five weeks remaining, this championship is shaping up to be a true nail-biter. Every green flag from here to September 29th could decide who gets crowned.
As the calendar turns toward September, the 2025 CRUSA Weekly Racing Series National Championships are entering the final stretch. With momentum swinging weekly, and margins razor-thin in several divisions, one thing is certain: every lap, every feature, and every weekend matters more than ever.
