(Greenville, MS - July 8, 2025) – Fireworks lit up the sky and the racing action was just as explosive at the legendary 1/4-mile gumbo oval of Greenville Speedway on Saturday, July 5th, as the Crate Racin’ USA sanctioned classes delivered thrilling battles all night long. With full grandstands and the reputation as "The Fastest Dirt Track in the South," fans were treated to a night of speed, intensity, and hometown heroes.
CRUSA Late Models (604): Hazzard Handles Business
Peter Hazzard was the man to beat all night long in the CRUSA 604 Late Model division. After topping the charts in qualifying with a blistering lap of 15.673 seconds, Hazzard backed it up with a win in Heat 1 and capped off the night with a dominant drive from the pole position to capture the feature win.
Justin Paxton made a strong charge from fifth on the grid to finish second, while Christopher McCool settled into the final podium spot. Despite strong early heat performances, Stormy Derryberry would not start the feature event.

CRUSA Street Stocks: Hawkins Sweeps the Night
The CRUSA Street Stock division saw a flawless night from Shane Hawkins. The driver of the No. 15 machine swept both the heat and the 10-lap feature race, leading wire-to-wire in both contests. Don Hooker gave chase but couldn’t mount a serious challenge, while Jamie Toten rounded out the top three in both events.
