(Eastaboga, AL — July 2, 2025) — Fans of high-octane excitement and red, white, and blue pride won’t want to miss the Independence 50 at Cochran Motor Speedway, coming up this Friday night, July 5th. A massive lineup of racing action is set to light up the Georgia clay, with special trophies for all classes, bonus awards throughout the divisions, and a full slate of racing that promises fireworks on and off the track.
To get things rolling, a Test and Tune Practice session will be held the night before on Thursday, July 4th, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, giving teams the chance to dial in their machines while fans enjoy a night at the track on Independence Day.
The feature event of the weekend is the “Independence 50” — a full-throttle evening of racing featuring six divisions and thousands of dollars in payouts and bonuses up for grabs. Late Models will headline the show with a $2,500-to-win main event, supported by TMT Utilities offering a $200 Quick Time award, $200 Hard Charger bonus, and $100 Hard Luck award.
The CRUSA Late Model Sportsman will also see action with a $2,000-to-win program and a $250 Fast Qualifier Award courtesy of Pitts Forestry. CRUSA Street Stocks will be competing for a $2,500 winner’s purse, with bonus support from Extreme Construction and a $100 Hard Charger award from James Tripp.
Adding to the drama, Factory Stocks will race for $2,500-to-win, backed by AJ’s Trailers with a $500 sponsorship, while the Crown Vic Pro and Crown Vic Jr. classes will also battle it out for $500 and $200-to-win, respectively. Bates Photography is adding a $50 bonus for the highest finishing female in the Crown Vic Jr. class.
Gates open at 3:00 PM on race day, with the Drivers Meeting at 6:30 PM and Practice beginning at 7:00 PM. General admission is set at $20, with kids (6-11) just $10. Pit passes are $40 for adults, and $20 for kids ages 6-11.
Race fans looking to make a weekend of it can take advantage of camping hookups available on-site. For details, contact Cochran Motor Speedway at (478) 232-6681 or email cmsdirt@yahoo.com.
