Eastaboga, AL – The 2022 Championship season is complete, and the dust has settled on the Championship top 10 in each Crate Racin’ USA division, determining who will be crowned National Champion at the 2022 Annual Awards Banquet. Crate Racin’ USA Officials have announced the 2022 Annual Awards Banquet will take place on Saturday night, February 11th, 2023, at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame Fox Sport 1 Dome, in Lincoln, AL.
Doors will open at 3 P.M., with Happy Hour 4 until 5 P.M., Dinner at 5 P.M., and Awards at 6 P.M. CRUSA Dirt Late Model Touring Series – Tennessee’s Jason Welshan piloted his Savage Chassis to his first National Championship on the Dirt Late Model Touring Series after picking up four wins, five top fives, and fifteen top tens in the nineteen events on the 2022 Touring schedule.
E-Z-GO Challenge Series – Jimmy Thomas of Phenix City, AL picked up the 2022 E-Z-GO Challenge Series Championship after taking home one win, six top fives, and six top tens through the eight-race mini-series of events paying $10,000 to win and more.
CRUSA Weekly Late Models – Billy Riels Racing is a name familiar to many that follow the Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Late Models, and the team will once again take home the Weekly Racing Series National Championship with driver Shannon Lee picking up his fourth Championship, and teammate KI Davis in the runner-up spot.
CRUSA Street Stocks – Calvin Martin of Carriere, MS picks up his first Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock National Championship with a 2022 campaign that included seven feature wins, nineteen top fives, and twenty-three top tens.
CRUSA Late Model Sportsman – Leighton, Alabama’s Haden Duncan returns to the top of the points standings and takes home his second Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman National Championship with a stellar season including twenty-one feature wins, twenty-eight top fives, and thirty top ten finishes.
CRUSA Modified Sportsman – Veteran Modified ace Chuckie Gipson will take home the 2022 Crate Racin’ USA Modified Sportsman National Championship following a season that included fourteen feature wins, twenty top five, and twenty top ten finishes to secure his first National Championship in the newest division under the Crate Racin’ USA banner.
VP Race Fuels Young Guns Challenge – Shreveport, LA driver Clayton Stuckey drove his Black Diamond to the 2022 VP Race Fuels Young Guns Challenge Series Championship in a season that saw the driver compete in eighteen races, picking up one feature win, nine top fives, and thirteen top tens.
All of the above National Champions will have their name etched in the record books, along with the top 10 finishers (top 5 in E-Z-GO Challenge and VP Young Guns) of each division. Drivers are encouraged to attend and the RSVP deadline is Monday January 30th. Tickets for the drivers receiving awards, plus one guest are complimentary, with additional tickets available at $40 per adult. Children 10 and under are Free.
